I was a little worried about including the following article in a blog to you.
I am always on the look out for a good, clear article on pronunciation to bring to your attention, and this one is about 10 commonly mispronounced English words.
I was a little worried as I said about the article, because of the cheeky heading, but ‘heh’ it’s a good article and I think very helpful.
3 More Commonly Mispronounced English Words
I would have also included the following three commonly mispronounced words:
1) Don’t say: probly, prolly | Do say: probably
Comment: Haplology is the dropping of one of two identical syllables such as the [ob] and [ab] in this word, usually the result of fast speech. Slow down and pronounce the whole word for maximum clarity and to reduce your chances of misspelling the word.
2) Don’t say: pronounciation | Do say: pronunciation
Comment: “Pronunciation” is among the most commonly mispronounced words. Interesting no? The ‘u’ in pronunciation is said like ‘u’ as in ‘cup’.
3) Don’t say: filum Do say: film
Comment: Because of the two consonants together -lm- people often try to insert a vowel.

Enjoy !
Best wishes,
